Trailblazers Behind the Trail

The success of the Napa Valley Vine Trail is a testament to the vision and dedication of many individuals and organizations. The late Tom Shelton, a respected wine industry leader, inspired the project, and with the efforts of Chuck McMinn, NVVTC Founder and Chairman, along with the Napa Valley Vintners, Napa Valley Land Trust, and Napa County Farm Bureau, the coalition was formed in 2008.

This latest section is the result of a collaborative effort involving numerous stakeholders, including local vineyards, government agencies, and community organizations. Their collective contributions have transformed the Vine Trail from a bold idea into a vital asset for the community, promoting sustainable transportation and healthy lifestyles.

Why the Vine Trail Matters

The Napa Valley Vine Trail is more than just a path through Napa Valley; it represents a commitment to a sustainable future. Stretching from the Vallejo Ferry Terminal to the Calistoga Depot, the 47-mile trail will connect two counties and countless communities. It offers an alternative transportation route that supports commuting, outdoor recreation, and low-impact tourism, all while preserving the natural beauty of Napa Valley.

Support the Vine Trail

The Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition relies on the support of the community to bring this project to life. They are committed to raising 25% of the construction costs and 50% of the maintenance costs.
