The city of American Canyon is gearing up for an extensive quality-of-life survey to gather insights to enhance community well-being. The survey will cover a range of topics including quality of life, essential community characteristics, services provided by the city and future priorities.

Beginning on May 3, selected residents will receive invitations via mail to participate. On May 22, all residents will have the opportunity to participate in the survey through American Canyon's virtual city hall at CityofAmericanCanyon.org/CommunitySurvey.

City Manager Jason Holley emphasized the significance of residents’ input. “We need your help,” he said. “This important survey provides invaluable insights into our community. The results help staff and city council identify priorities to further enhance the quality of life in American Canyon.”

Utilizing the National Community Survey, American Canyon will benchmark residents’ opinions against those of other communities across the nation.

The survey will be available in English, Spanish and Tagalog.

The NCS will be facilitated through Polco, an online engagement platform that enables residents to provide direct input into local government decision-making processes. Polco, according to the press release from the city of American Canyon, adheres to a policy of anonymity, sharing only aggregated results without disclosing individual data or votes.

Residents can access the survey online or via the Polco app. To confirm residency, ZIP code verification is required.

Mayor Leon Garcia urged all residents to participate, highlighting the survey's role in shaping the community's future. "American Canyon is a remarkable community, and the survey results will make it an even better place to live, work, and play,” he said. “I urge every American Canyon resident to participate in the survey and help shape our community's future.”

Residents with inquiries or requiring special accommodations to complete the survey can call the city manager’s office at (707) 647-5323, or email communications@cityofamericancanyon.org.
