The third annual Napa Fire Resource Fair happening on March 16 at the Napa Valley Expo will gather families, locals, community groups, wine industry members, and nearby businesses to learn about ways to help prevent wildfires.
“Education is the first line of defense when building fire-resilient communities,” said Erick Hernandez, spokesperson for CAL FIRE/ Napa County Fire. “Being able to bring local government and industry experts to provide education and services is instrumental.”
During the fair, visitors will have the chance to interact with exhibitors providing insights on fire preparedness, covering topics such as creating defensible spaces and accessing county support for fire-affected individuals.
Primarily known for its wines and expansive vineyards, Napa County has increasingly become linked with devastating fires over time.
The Glass Fire in 2020 emerged as the most destructive blaze in the valley's history, destroying more than 1,000 structures, including homes and commercial buildings.
“When facing community-wide challenges like wildfire risks, we are strongest when we all work together. This fair is about increasing awareness of services and access to resources that help prevent fires and keep us all safer during fire events,” said Molly Moran Williams, industry and community relations director for the Napa Valley Grapegrowers.
The event is open to Napa County residents and admission is complimentary.
Tacos El Muchacho Alegre will provide tacos for purchase in the afternoon.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
